In the beginning...shapes, lines, colors needed to be contained and meet at distinct edges. Themes and color schemes emerged.
In the Middle of the evolution...still holding onto the lines and shapes
but letting going of a rigid placement of object and incorporating more mixed media.
letting go of rigid placement and letting the paint and canvas tell the artist what to do.
Past EVOLUTION of a PAINTING
Started out with ten small canvases, painted all ten of them to look like step 2. Took six of them and transformed them again......like many of my paintings the painting tells me what to do. Without realizing it I created a painting of an abstract fish. This expressed my inner emotion of felling like a "fish out of water".
